St. Louis Blues goalie Joel Hofer had another impressive season in 2024-25. Over 31 games against the Blues, the 24-year-old netminder posted a 16-8-3 record with a .904 save percentage and a goals-against average of 2.64. This follows his 2023-24 performance, where he played 30 games with a 15-12-1 record, a .913 save percentage, and an average of 2.65 goals allowed.

Thanks to his consistent play over two seasons, Hofer secured a two-year contract extension at an average annual value this offseason, earning him well-deserved recognition. NHL Fantasy/Edge recently ranked him 9th among the top 10 fantasy hockey goalies under 26 years old heading into the 2025-26 season.

Other goalies on the list include Jake Ottinger (Dallas Stars), Dustin Wolf (Calgary Flames), Peter Kochetkov (Carolina Hurricanes), Lucas Dostal (Anaheim Ducks), Jeremy Swayman (Boston Bruins), Yaroslav Askarov (Chicago Blackhawks), and Leevi Merilainen (Ottawa Senators).

Given Hofer’s solid backup role with the Blues, it’s no surprise he’s viewed as a promising young talent in fantasy hockey for 2025-26. He could emerge as a valuable sleeper pick if he elevates his game further in the upcoming season.

Fan Take: Joel Hofer’s rise signals exciting potential for the next generation of NHL goalies, making him a player fans and fantasy managers should watch closely. His progress could also highlight the Blues’ depth and future strength between the pipes, impacting the league’s goaltending landscape.
