Leverkusen and Juve Set Their Sights on Chelsea’s Sterling

Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly showing interest in Raheem Sterling, the winger for Chelsea, according to ESPN sources.

Sterling has two years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea has made a bid of £20 million ($27 million) for the 30-year-old player.

He was excluded from the Chelsea squad that recently won the US Club World Cup and has been training at Cobham for the past week.

Last season, Sterling was on loan at Arsenal, where he struggled, making 17 appearances in the Premier League without scoring and contributing just two assists.

Chelsea’s manager Enzo Maresca has included Sterling in his so-called “bomb squad”—a group of players training separately from the first team, indicating they may not have a future at the club, especially following his deadline-day switch to Arsenal.

While most of Chelsea’s squad is on vacation after their Club World Cup success, sources indicate that Sterling is preparing for the upcoming season.

No formal discussions have taken place regarding Sterling’s transfer, but he is considered a significant option for both Juventus and Leverkusen.

This news is crucial for soccer fans, as it highlights significant player movements that could reshape teams and impact competitive dynamics in leagues. Sterling’s potential shift may not only influence Chelsea’s strategy but could also be pivotal in bolstering Juventus or Leverkusen’s title ambitions.
