Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac reportedly informed the club that he wanted to explore a potential transfer this summer.

This was broken this afternoon by Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, followed by previous news that Isaac had not travelled to Singapore with his pre-season Newcastle team.

There is now further update on the international situation in Sweden, and that’s exactly what Newcastle fans didn’t want to hear.

Fabrizio Romano added information that Liverpool remains enthusiastic about Isaac, even with the signature of Hugo Ekitike, which was confirmed to arrive yesterday, so please see below…

Romano posted: “It’s dependent on Newcastle to understand that Alexander Isaac is a Liverpool target even after signing Ekitique. #LFC Sell Diaz, they can bid after contacting them directly 10 days before. Isaac has not had any concrete consultations with Al Hilal so far. ”

Ekitike’s signature made it seem certain that Liverpool spelled out the end of what appeared to be a very ambitious deal to sign ISAK.

But today’s bomb update at the 25-year-old pushing to leave Newcastle certainly changed everything.

Romano says the LFC is still enthusiastic and may be able to raise some of the funds for the deal by selling Luis Diaz.

Will anyone stop Liverpool from winning the title next season?

Liverpool is a clear favourite for the Premier League title after such a strong summer transfer window featuring Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez.

The Merseyside giants have also taken important steps to bring star duo Mohamed Sarah and Virgil van Dyke into a new contract.

Even if they end up adding Isak to the Arne Slot team, it will be extremely difficult to see how everyone will approach this Liverpool side both domestically and Europe in 2025/26.
