Vikings WR Justin Jefferson Sidelined with “Very Mild” Hamstring Strain

The Minnesota Vikings have decided to keep wide receiver Justin Jefferson off the field for a period due to mild tension in his left hamstring. Head coach Kevin O’Connell mentioned that Jefferson will be reassessed next week before practice on Friday. Jefferson, a two-time All-Pro with the most receiving yards in NFL history during a player’s first five seasons, experienced some leg tightness during Thursday’s practice, which led to limited participation as a precautionary measure. Following this, the team conducted an MRI scan. O’Connell described the injury as very minor and does not believe Jefferson will be sidelined for more than six weeks ahead of the season opener against Chicago on September 8th. Nevertheless, given Jefferson’s value to the team, the injury’s nature, and the physical demands of his position, it is expected that he will miss several days of training camp. Jefferson previously suffered a significant strain on his right hamstring last year, causing him to miss seven games.

Fan Take: This update is crucial for NFL fans as Jefferson is a pivotal player whose presence greatly impacts the Vikings’ offensive strength. His health and readiness will be closely watched as it could influence the competitive landscape of the upcoming season.
