Manchester United are keen to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez during the summer transfer.
Aston Villa has been urged to ask for £80 million from the goalkeeper if Manchester United makes a call. Martinez is also linked to the transition to Saudi Arabia.
“If I were a villa, I would tell United to pay £8 million ahead of time,” Brian King told Villa News.
“He (Martinez) is considered one of the top three Keepers in the Premier League, if not the world.
“If I were a villa, I wouldn’t enjoy the loan, and if I was a player, I certainly wouldn’t want that.
“If you want me badly, I think you’ll pay because if he moves, he has a huge amount of money.
“Why does Villa want to sell him? Or are you even thinking about lending him out? Why do you want to get rid of one of your top players when they don’t have any deep strength under him?
“That doesn’t make sense.”
Manchester United can use Emiliano Martinez
There’s no doubt that 32 years old is the best player. He is certainly one of the best in his position in the world. However, £80 million is an absurd demand for goalkeepers, and Manchester United is rarely payable.
After an error-prone performance from Andre Onana last season, we need to introduce quality goalkeepers this summer. Cameroon International will have to trade him at the expense of valuable points of his team in his performance. Martinez is a tremendous addition and he will be an upgrade for Onana.
Man United’s moves are ideal for players
The opportunity to join Manchester United is also extremely exciting for goalkeepers. He is at the peak of his career, and this may be his last chance to join an elite club. He’s done very well for Aston Villa, but this may be the right time for him to move on and try new challenges. He has already won a big trophy in his country and he is now trying to do well at the club level.
Aston Villas must be reasonable to their demands in order to pass the movement.
