Luka Doncic Throws a Shot with the Mavericks While Unleashing His Revenge Game

A man spends his summer transforming his body from flabby to fit and is eager to share the results. His first stop? New York City. There, Luka Dončić was photographed at the newly renovated Yankee Stadium, representing the unique physical talents present in today’s sports world.

Both men appear in Men’s Health Magazine, which recently featured Dončić on its cover. The story highlights his dedication to redistributing weight through rigorous training and improved nutrition. Standing 6’6″ and weighing 230 pounds, Dončić showed no weakness during his 28-game debut with the Lakers after being traded from the Dallas Mavericks in a surprising deal involving Anthony Davis.

Dončić even chatted with the Yankees’ broadcast team where announcer Michael Kay playfully speculated on how Dončić would handle being a true New Yorker. Kay also commented on the criticism the Mavericks faced after trading Dončić, suggesting they should send him a copy of Men’s Health magazine as proof of his resilience. Dončić laughed off the doubts, saying, “I probably saw it. I don’t need to worry about it.”

New York was one of three stops during Dončić’s summer, followed by brief visits to Chicago and Los Angeles. His Los Angeles stop coincided with his 26th birthday and the potential signing of a contract extension with the Lakers. As a five-time All-NBA guard, Dončić could sign a $224 million, three-year deal in 2028 with player options worth $161 million.

The lingering concerns about Dončić’s knees seem to have lessened, given his obvious physical commitment. Despite some slight imperfections like a small belly and rounded jawline, he averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game last season. Now, he appears ready to cement himself as one of the world’s best players.

Back home in Croatia, Dončić followed two 90-minute workouts daily, adhered to a gluten-free, low-sugar, high-protein diet, and practiced intermittent fasting, according to Men’s Health. His physical update included a nod to his Air Jordan 1 shoes and even batting a ball from a game. When asked about his baseball skills, Dončić humorously admitted he was good on the Wii console but probably not in real life.
