Liverpool reportedly had an interest in signing Nantez defender Nathan Zeze during the summer transfer.
According to a TBR Football report, they are now abandoning the pursuit of the 20-year-old French defender. He received a favorable suggestion from the Saudi costume Neom SC and chose to accept it.
The report claims that Liverpool is in contact with French Wonder Kid agents regarding potential moves. He is currently set to complete a 25 million euro move to Saudi Arabia.
“Neom has been causing waves after his promotion, but this deal has been surprising in many Europes,” Graeme Bailey told TBR Football.
“He was on the verge of the French senior squad and may have moved to England or Spain, but he chose the Saudi Arabia.
“It’s not that big in terms of finances, but this is a huge deal for the Saudi Arabian professional league.”
Liverpool needs a defender
It’s no secret that Liverpool needs more defensive depth, and they’re also linked to Mark Guehe. Zeze would have been a quality long-term acquisition for them. The 20-year-old has received high praise throughout Europe and is expected to become a top-class player in the future.
Liverpool has done well to groom the talented young players, and they may have helped him grow further and meet his incredible potential. It will be interesting to see if they have decided to move on to other targets now.
They will need to bring in another central defender before the window closes, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to close the Crystal Palace star movement.
Nathan Zeze may have stayed in Europe
Meanwhile, Zeze will try to continue his development in Saudi Arabia’s regular football. His decision to move to the Saudi Arabian professional league at this stage of his career would certainly be a surprise.
The defender could have chosen to play easily for top European clubs. He would have had many opportunities to move to Saudi Arabia in the future.
