In July, Major League Baseball saw an impressive display of power and skill with some truly massive home runs. The month’s top ten longest homers feature both established stars and breakout rookies, including two by Braves superstar Ronald Acuña Jr.

The longest home run in July was by rookie Denzel Clark of the Athletics, who blasted a 471-foot shot against the Giants on July 4th, landing atop the visitors’ clubhouse at Sacramento’s Sutter Health Park. This hit is not only the longest of the month but also ranks as the fifth-longest homer by an A’s player in the Statcast era since 2015.

Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Braves hit a 468-foot homer off the Royals’ Rich Hill on July 28th, smashing the ball deep into left-center and clearing a fountain before landing in the seating area. Unfortunately, Acuña was placed on the injured list two days later due to Achilles tightness. Another notable rookie, Jac Caglianone of the Royals, launched a 466-foot homer against the Pirates on July 9th, a powerful shot dubbed the “three-wall” home run for clearing Center Field Falls at Kauffman Stadium.

Michael Taylor of the White Sox hit a career-long 464-foot homer against the Rockies on July 5th at Coors Field, a stadium known for home run-friendly conditions. Orioles’ Jordan Westburg showcased his power during a tough season for the team with a 461-foot blast off Braves’ Aaron Bummer, the longest of his career.

Pirates’ Oneil Cruz contributed a 458-foot towering homer versus the Royals on July 8th, signaling his strength as a 6-foot-7 slugger and announcing his participation in the Home Run Derby. Acuña appeared again tied for 7th place with a 456-foot homer against the Yankees on July 20th, surpassing Alex Rodriguez on the Yankees’ all-time homer list. Red Sox’s Jarren Duran matched that distance with a 456-foot homer versus the Rockies on July 8th, the longest ever at Fenway Park, as did Mariners’ Cole Young against the Rangers on July 31st.

Rounding out the top ten, Red Sox’s Romy Gonzalez launched a 454-foot homer over the Green Monster against the Rockies on July 7th, initially tying for the longest homer at Fenway for the season.

Fan Take: These jaw-dropping homers highlight the incredible talents emerging in MLB, blending power with precision. For fans, it’s thrilling to witness these historic hits, which not only energize the game but also hint at a new era of exciting talent shaping baseball’s future.
