Central York alumnus Carson Bacha has added a title to his already impressive golf resume.

Call him a professional champion.

The recent Auburn alumni won the Osprey Valley Open on Sunday, earning a winner check in their fourth start at the PGA Tour American Circuit. This tour is the first of two steps to earn a PGA Tour card. The next step is the Corn Ferry Tour.

As his parents see, Bacha fired rounds of 65, 67, 65 and 64, finishing 23 under on the TPC Toronto Heathland course, moving into the playoffs with Jay Card III. Both players interpreted the first playoff hole, with Bacha snugging the $40,500 winner’s check on the second hole par. The card was eliminated with a bogey.

“As we head into the playoffs, there’s a bit of a nerve, but at that point we know we have to beat one guy,” Bacha said after the victory. “I played clean golf all week. I made three bogeys that I believe in all week. I’m just trying to play a lot of smart golf.”

Bacha won at all levels. With the Yaiaa and District 3 Class 3A champion, he won the PIAA title in his fourth year. He was also part of the Auburn team that won the NCAA title.

Bacha made cuts in two of the four events he attended, finishing third in the Bromont Open at Golf Chateau Bromont. He sits seventh in Tour Points at 456, earning $55,800.

This tour will have weekly tournaments by the end of September. It concludes with the Fortinet Cup Championship in British Columbia.

The PGA Tour Americas was created by the merger of the PGA Tour Latino américa and PGA Tour Canada. In 2024, we held 16 events. This was the first run. There are six events in Latin America from March to May, and 10 North American events from June to September.

The top 120 players after the 15 events will be eligible for the closing championship tournament. The top 10 players in the final Fortinet Cup rankings will earn Korn Ferry Tour status that was exempt from the following season.
