Nottingham Forest is currently on the verge of signing a £10 million defender and has submitted an offer for his services, the report says.
Forest’s busy summer moving window continues
They are looking to deepen their team as Forest prepares for their Europa League campaign next season, but Nuno Espirito Santo was also tasked with bringing the place to replace Anthony Elanga following his departure for Sweden’s international Newcastle United.
Considering that Dan Nudoy then arrived on the city grounds along with Igor Jesus and Jäa Kuña and generated a significant amount of money from sales this summer, there should be plenty of space for more arrivals.
player | New Club | Transfer fee |
Anthony Luna | Newcastle United | 53m |
Daniro | Botafogo | £20 million |
Ramon Sosa | Palm Tree | £11 million |
Andrew Omobamidere | Strasbourg | £9 million |
Matt Turner | Lyon | £7 million |
Lewis O’Brien | Wrexham | 3m |
Following Turner’s departure, a new goalkeeper must be led through the door. And Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that Angus Gun is set to move to the city grounds.
However, Gunn is not the only player who can tie himself with Nuno’s side in the very near future, and a report from Italy (via sports witness) reveals that Nottingham Forest is currently sealing off the contract for Jackson Tochachoa of Hellas Verona.
Forest offers a bonus on top of 12 million euros (£10 million), which is expected to be accepted by the Italian club, with the transfer approaching completion now, and Tchatchoua is expected to receive a four-year contract.
The fullback is a versatile option for Nuno given that he can play on both sides of the defense and on the right-wing back.
Tchatchoua could be a solid addition to Nuno’s team
Nuno already has a reliable option on the right back in the form of Olaina. The London-born defender has played in 35 Premier League games in the 2024-25 campaign, but the Verona defender may be a necessary addition.
With tricky trees set up to embark on a European campaign, Nuno needs to improve his team depth, and the versatility at the 23-year-old could make him a solid option, but he is also a forefoot threat.
Cameroon International scored two goals and three assists in Serie A last season, scoring the opening goal in September last year in a 2-0 victory over Genoa.
That said, considering the 28-year-old received so much praise for his performance last season, it’s difficult for Tchatchoua to replace Aina in the first XI.
