Sunderland is interested in signing Borussia Dortmund defender Julian Ryerson during the summer transfer period.
According to a report from Sky Germany, they will also face competition from wolves. The 27-year-old defender has signed a contract with a German club until 2028, and it will be interesting to see if Sunderland can convince the German club to sell the players. They were not under pressure to sanction his departure and were able to demand a premium from him.

Julian Ryerson improves Sunderland
Ryerson can work on either side as a fullback, and he can prove to be an excellent addition to Sunderland. He helped them improve defensively, and he was able to contribute as well. The 27-year-old could be drawn to the idea of playing in the Premier League, and it remains to be seen how things will develop.
Sunderland has secured promotion to the Premier League and needs to sign quality players to survive on top flights. They need experienced players who can make an immediate impact.
A wolf enthusiastic about Ryerson
On the other hand, wolves are also interested in players. It’s no surprise that they’re about to sign Ryerson. They will need to find a quality alternative to Nelson Semedo, who left the club during the summer transfer at the end of his contract.
The Bundesliga defender could prove to be an ideal acquisition for both clubs, and it will be interesting to see where he ends. Premier League clubs have the financial muscles to pay the premium, and it’s still unclear how things will unfold.
Two clubs need to convince players of their ambition if they want to get a deal beyond their contract.
