West Ham United will be interested in signing former Burnley midfielder Josh Brown Hill this summer.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after his contract expired with the English club. He was outstanding for them last season and played a key role in their promotion. Brown Hill scored 18 goals for Burnley last season, proving to be a great West Ham acquisition.

Brown Hill is also linked to Leicester City.

West Ham can use Josh Brown Hill

They need more creativity and cutting edge in the final third, and the 29-year-old adds just that. He has the quality and experience to do well in the Premier League and was able to prove that he is an excellent acquisition with a free transfer.

Scottish champion Celtic is interested in signing players as well, but reports from Football Insider claim they cannot compete with West Ham financially.

“It’s going to be a difficult race to sign Josh Brownhill,” he told Football Insider.

“He is a top midfielder and helped Burnley score 18 goals last season to earn him a promotion in the Premier League.

“If West Ham comes to Josh Brownhill, Celtic won’t be able to match the offer financially.

“These Premier League clubs have far more money than Scotland’s biggest clubs.”

The Premier League side is currently in pole position to secure his signature. It will be interesting to see if they can close the move right away. It’s fair to assume that Brown Hill is attracted to the idea of joining the Premier League club as well. While there is no doubt that Celtic is a big club and they can offer Champions League football, the opportunity to move into the Premier League can be difficult to refuse.

The 29-year-old is at the peak of his career and he will look to himself on top flights. If they can get the deal done, he could be a very useful player for West Ham. Signing someone of his quality and experience on a free transfer can represent a master stroke.
