Benjamin Sesco, a target for Manchester United and Newcastle, has been training separately from the RB Leipzig first team, the club announced this Wednesday.

Sources indicate that both clubs are considering bids around £69.7 million ($92.7 million), including potential add-on fees.

RB Leipzig mentioned that Sesco will be training individually along with teammate Lukas Klostermann, following his exclusion from the squad for a preseason friendly against Atalanta.

According to sources, Manchester United has the financial capability to pursue Sesco after recent transfer activities and are optimistic about their chances when it comes to competing with Newcastle.

Sesco’s decision will significantly affect Eddie Howe’s Newcastle squad and the future positioning of star striker Alexander Isak, especially after the latter declined Liverpool’s initial offer.

Last season, Sesco scored 21 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions, having made an impact at RB Salzburg before moving to Germany in 2023.

Information from ESPN’s Rob Dawson, Mark Ogden, James Olley, and Tom Hamilton contributed to this report.

Fan Take: This news is pivotal for soccer fans as it underscores the intense competition in the Premier League, where clubs are making bold moves to secure top talent. The potential arrival of Sesco could reshape the offensive dynamics for either Manchester United or Newcastle, which may influence the title race significantly.
