Report: Isaac Advised to Go Solo in Training in Newcastle

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has been instructed to report for training following the departure of other players amid ongoing uncertainty regarding his future, as reported by the Pennsylvania News Agency.

The 25-year-old Swedish international did not join his teammates on their preseason tour to Singapore and Korea. Despite interest in securing his services, notably after a thigh injury led to a £110 million ($1.997 million) bid, his future remains unclear.

Isak, who expressed a desire to explore his opportunities this summer, traveled to Spain over the weekend to train with his former club Real Sociedad. He arrived just as coach Eddie Howe’s team concluded their session in Seoul and was granted two days to train independently.

The team returned to training on Wednesday morning, with families invited to join. However, Isak, who went back to the club’s Benton training facility on Monday, was reportedly told to wait outside until the others had left, arriving at around 3:50 PM.

ESPN reported last week that a club from Merseyside found it unproductive to make another offer, given Newcastle’s rejection of Liverpool’s initial proposal.

If Newcastle identifies a suitable alternative in the transfer market and shows willingness to let Isak go, their position might change. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig has received offers for striker Benjamin Sesco from both Manchester United and Newcastle.

Newcastle made its first offer, which sources claim included an additional £4.3 million in add-ons, amounting to about £65.4 million. This was rejected last week for the Slovenia international, but they have since submitted an enhanced offer of £69.7 million with improved add-ons.

Information from the PA was utilized in this report.

Fan Take: This news is significant for soccer fans as it reflects the ongoing dynamics and tensions in player transfers, which can directly impact team performance. Isak’s situation could signal broader shifts in player movements within the Premier League, making every transfer window an opportunity that could reshape the competition.
