Leeds United is reportedly currently trapped by an experienced striker in a deal where 49ers hand Daniel Fark is looking at a solution to his offensive problems.
Fark still wants to add an additional attack
After he confirmed that Leeds’ frontline was not ready for the Premier League, the people of Elland Road turned again this summer into the Fark transfer market. Whites are already welcoming six fresh faces, but now they are aiming for some offensive reinforcements to match something like Jaka Bijol, who is already boosting the backline.
Only those who arrive to perform Farke’s attack at Premier League level are big issues, just one month before the transfer window closes. Names like Rodrigo Muniz and Beto were one of the headlines in the first half of the window, but now it appears that Leeds is forced to look elsewhere.
This is why Liverpool’s Ben Doak reportedly emerged as an option. The 19-year-old winger enjoyed an impressive loan spell in Middlesbrough last season, allowing him to leave Anfield freely this month for £20 million.
Additionally, names such as Jonathan Lowe are mentioned – names that Leeds fans know well thanks to his time in Norwich City.
The England U21 International was reportedly identified as an important target by the people of Yorkshire. Unfortunately, before any of these young stars arrive, Leeds’ focus appears to be heading towards the veteran striker who scored over 200 career goals.
Leeds closes to Taremi
According to Corriere Dello Sport, Leeds is now closing by signing Mehdi Taremi from Inter Milan after dodging competition with West Ham United and Nottingham Forest to take pole position for signing.
Leeds’ pursuit of Taremi is no surprise given that Fark wants Premier League-level quality. The 33-year-old has achieved over 200 career goals and has been featured in Porto and more recently Inter Milan.
With his name having three goals and nine assists in every competition last season, it’s clear that Taremi can make an impact at the top level, even if he’s coming as a creator than his recent scorer.
Even for many of the team’s roles at Inter last season, Taremi won impressive acclaim from the legendary Clarence Sidorf. “He attacked, defended, and won one against Ramin Yamal. He really made a difference. Mehadi is underrated all year round (at Inter).”
