This week has been busy for Man United. Mann United confirmed the arrival of striker Benjamin Sesco from RB Leipzig. And before that contract was complete, they were paying attention to their next top target, Carlos Valleva.

Baleba, 21, has been on the meteoric rise since signing to Brighton in 2023 and is now considered one of the best young midfielders in world football. Man United appreciates him so highly, that’s why there’s a desire to take him to Old Trafford from the club boss.

However, after signing Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Sesko, the deal is said to be highly unlikely given that Man United will need to raise significant funds. Meanwhile, Brighton has not been pressured to sell, particularly during the summer transfer period. However, the situation could mean that movement is still being made.

Speaking on Talksport (via TeamTalk), former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has told Man United to sign Baleba now. Otherwise, there is a risk that other clubs will move themselves in 2026.

“I think United should get this window to Beleva or they won’t get him. If he has another good season, I think the other team will come along with Real Madrid, ‘Bosch, we have him.’

“If Man United wants him… if I’m Reuben Amorim, I’m a bit bullish about it. I’m saying, ‘Because I can take this deal to Europe.’ If they can sign him, he can move them to 10 spaces (in Premier League standings). ”

It will be interesting to see if Man United will try to sign Valeva this summer, but before that, they will have to sell Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and more.
