It’s no secret that Newcastle is about to sign multiple strikers before the summer transfer window closes in a few weeks. They have linked Nicholas Jackson, Joan Wissa and many others recently, and it appears that a new name is currently under consideration at St. James Park.
The idea is for Liverpool to open the door for Alexander Isaac before Newcastle signs two strikers (one starter, one rotation option). Given the club’s well-documented PSR concerns, backup number 9 could be a low-cost signature.
Dominique Calvert Lewin fits the bill in this regard, and he is linked to Newcastle, but it appears they are considering another free agent move.
Newcastle is considering Michelle Antonio’s shocking move
According to Dave Ockop (via FootballFancast), Newcastle has registered interest in signing Michail Antonio. The 35-year-old, who missed the majority last season after being involved in a serious road traffic accident, was confirmed to leave West Ham earlier this week.
Antonio has fully recovered from an injury injured during a road traffic accident, so he is ready and can immediately affect his new club. And given how Hau wants players with Premier League experience to be added to his team, Jamaica International could be the ideal candidate.
Antonio has scored 67 goals in the Premier League, so if Newcastle wants to put money elsewhere rather than a new backup striker, he could be a valuable asset. However, for now, I have not seen where movements have been made for the former West Ham man.
