Dak Prescott Shares Audacious Forecasts for Cowboys and Rams in 2025 NFL Showdown

The Dallas Cowboys may lack star defender Mika Parsons on their roster, but quarterback Dak Prescott remains confident about the team’s prospects for the 2025 season. During a chat with Los Angeles Rams owner Stan Kroenke, Prescott expressed his belief that the Cowboys and Rams would face off again, predicting, “We’ll meet y’all at the NFC Championship.”

Although Prescott’s bold claim left Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and executive VP Stephen Jones smiling, the team faces significant challenges. Last season, the Cowboys finished 7-10, and Prescott missed half the games due to a hamstring injury. Questions linger about the team’s current lineup, especially surrounding Parsons, one of the NFL’s top edge rushers, who continues to hold out in contract negotiations.

Besides the Parsons situation, Dallas hasn’t made many headline-grabbing moves this offseason, aside from signing wide receiver George Pickens and replacing head coach Mike McCarthy with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Meanwhile, the Rams, who narrowly lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional round last season, bolstered their roster by adding wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive tackle Poona Ford, sustaining a young team that has reached the playoffs in the past two seasons.

It’s been quite some time since the Cowboys—often called “America’s Team”—last appeared in the NFC Championship, with their last run dating back to 1996. Following Washington’s recent NFC Championship appearance, Dallas now holds the longest active drought in this stage of the playoffs. Oddsmakers seem skeptical about a Cowboys-Rams title game, ranking the Rams sixth in odds to win the NFC (+1000) and Dallas tenth (+2200) as of August 10.

Fan Take: Dak Prescott’s confident prediction injects excitement into the 2025 NFL season and highlights the intense rivalry brewing in the NFC. For NFL fans, this sets the stage for a thrilling narrative of comeback and competition, potentially reigniting one of the league’s most storied franchises.
