  • Everton wins the race and signs Jack Grelish with a loan move
  • Grealish wanted more play time from Etihad Stadium

In one of the most surprising moves of the summer, England International Jack Grelish plans to trade Manchester City for Everton on loan during the season.

According to Transfer News expert Fabrizio Romano, the two clubs have reached full agreement, with medical care scheduled for the second half of today, with deals expected to be finalized within the next 24 hours.

Romano reports that Grelish “says yes” to the Everton Project after positive discussions with the club’s hierarchy.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who won multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League trophy against City, is ready to embark on a new challenge under David Moys.

Everton’s pursuit of grain has recently accelerated after players expressed openness to travel, eager to ensure more consistent play time.

The move comes after Grelish has had a conversation with England manager Thomas Touchel. Thomas Touchel has made it clear to the midfielder that he is part of the national team’s plan, but he will need to play regular football in order to secure a place with the team.

In Man City, Grelish struggled to play last season due to competition for the team, making it clear that his future is away from Etihad Stadium.

The debate between Everton and Man City is centered on financial conditions, with the city claiming full compensation for Grelish’s wages during the term of the loan. Everton has been financially strengthened by his recent desire to inject his creativity into the attack, and agreed to those terms to ensure the transaction.

For the Moyes, the move represents a statement signed as they aim to convert Everton into a side that can compete in the top half of the Premier League.

For Grealish, it is an opportunity to break out of the city’s rotation system and become a central figure again.
