Christian Romero has been linked to a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur in recent months.
The 27-year-old defender reportedly was keen on new challenges this summer, and he was deeply tied to his move to LA La Liga at the start of the transfer window. However, the rumors have since disappeared.
Is Atletico ready to go back to Romero?
Atletico Madrid now appears to be ready to return for him. The Spanish costume, according to the Ficheisie tribe, is hoping to sign the Argentine international.
The report claims that Romero is considered a unruly asset to Tottenham, and that the North London Club does not want to sell him. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Atletico Madrid may need to force an exit for players to execute the transaction.
Tottenham must keep Christian Romero
The North London outfit was a very disappointing defensively last season and needs to be improved in that area of the pitch. They can’t afford to sell the best defenders. Romero has been outstanding since his transition to the Premier League, helping him win the UEFA Europa League last season.
Keeping him in the club should be one of their priorities. It remains to be seen whether La Liga’s outfit has decided to test Tottenham’s resolve on offer.
The North London outfit has secured qualifying for the Champions League for upcoming campaigns and requires quality players to compete at the highest level. They can’t afford to oppose elite attackers in the Champions League and lose one of the best defenders in the world.
Romero has been outstanding for the club and the country in recent seasons, and he is an essential asset to the London club. Atletico Madrid may need to pay a fair amount to convince Tottenham.
