USGA is sticking to NBC for compensation for the US Open in a deal announced Tuesday with NBCuniversal, which has been ongoing 2032, including an extra hour of prime-time coverage for the weekday major championship.
The partnership between NBC and USGA dates in 1995 except that it only lasted five years before Fox Sports was returned to NBC in 2015.
NBC is the exclusive broadcast home for three professional events at USGA. The US Open, US Women’s Open, and US Senior Open. Peacock streams all USGA programming on NBC, providing exclusive coverage of the US Open and the US Women Open.
The New Deal includes 48 hours of US open coverage. There are 25 hours on NBC and 33 hours on the West Coast of the US. The Women’s Open in the US will take 27 to 7 hours on NBC over the weekend. The US Senior Open will earn 18 hours and 6 hours at NBC.
Bersant is a new media company that will be spin-out from Comcast Corp. and won USGA Network and Golf Channel’s Media Rights for Golf Channel in 2032. USANetwork will open US, broadcast US Women’s Open, and nine other USGA Championships will join the Golf Channel.
