Chelsea is reportedly preparing a direct offer to transfer Liverpool Central defender Ibrahima Konate’s surprise potential.
According to a report by Chelsea News, Bruce is likely to have a series of ambitious moves to sign Connate from rival Liverpool, where Levi Colwill was seriously injured.
France International was a key player for Liverpool, but is now in the final year of his contract with the Reds.
This means there is some pressure on Liverpool to sell Conate this summer to avoid losing him for free in a year.
Konate Island to make a surprising transfer from Chelsea to Liverpool?
It seems unlikely that Liverpool will sell a key player like Conate to Chelsea, but this report suggests that the West London giants are really trying to give it a try.
Enzo Maresca was given many exciting new signatures this summer, with Joan Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Liam Dellup and Jarrell Hato, but there is probably room for more new additions.
As the pigeons are primarily left-backs, centre-backs like Conate can give CFCs much needed upgrades to slightly less convincing performers such as Trevocharova, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benovabadiaseal and Wesley Fofana, who caused the injury.
Conate may be waiting for Real Madrid
Konate is also the target of AS’ Real Madrid Catch off side It was reported earlier, so it’s not yet known whether he’ll pick Chelsea now.
Perhaps Connate will wait until the end of the contract and make his decision next summer, where he can go where he likes.
Chelsea will do well to win the race for the 26-year-old’s signature, but if elite names like Madrid are also involved, it probably isn’t the easiest deal.
