  • Leon Bailey is planning to leave Aston Villa today
  • When Roma finally got the player they wanted

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Rome reached an agreement on a deal to sign Aston Villa Winger Leon Bailey, so all political parties reached a verbal agreement over the weekend.

The move will lend Jamaican International to the Serie A club for a fee of between 20,000 and 3.3 million euros, including a purchase option clause of 22 million euros that can be triggered at the end of the season.

Bailey has made it clear in recent weeks that Rome is his number one priority despite his interest from other parts of Europe. His determination to make this move has played a key role in speeding up negotiations.

As part of the agreed timeline between the clubs, Bailey will land in Italy Tuesday morning and receive medical care with Rome that afternoon.

Medical permits have already been granted, and no obstacles are expected prior to the official announcement from Jalolosi.

For Aston Villa, the decision to sanction Bailey’s departure comes after an inconsistent spell in the Premier League. The winger, arriving from Bayer Leverkusen, showed his quality from time to time, but often suffered from injuries and consistency.

The move allows for both financial flexibility and market maneuvering as Villas pushes to balance their teams for another tough campaign under UNAI Emery.

For Rome, the deal is a key step in the transfer period this summer. They have been actively searching the market for a wide range of attackers who can provide goals and creativity.

Bailey, who arrived Tuesday, is becoming the latest famous addition to the Roman team, and fans of Studio Olimpico are eager to see if he can rediscover the form that once became one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting offensive talents.
