NEW YORK – Janik Thinner was pulled out of the US Open Mixed Double Stonament just before it began Tuesday, as he was feeling unwell, the day after he retired on the first set of the Cincinnati Open Finals.

The No. 1 ranked sinner, the defending champion of singles from Flushing Meadows, is to compete in mixed doubles with Katerina Siniakova.

The American Tennis Association has announced that the first contest was scheduled to take place at the new Mixed Doubles event. USTA said Sinner and Siniakova will replace them with alternative duo with the highest total single rankings in a 16-team draw.
