  • Tottenham thought something was off about Eze’s deal.
  • The Spurs are now facing a tricky situation

Tottenham had agreed to all the signing of Crystal Palace and Ebebekiese with England International, but Arsenal had other ideas.

Following James Madison’s injury and the departure of his son Hyun Min, the Spurs were trying to add creativity to their team, so they identified Eze as their main target.

They agreed to everything about the transfer, so they were thinking about team Eze and their plans for this season.

However, at the last minute, Arsenal rekindled interest in the palace’s star.

Within hours, the gunner sealed the contract to sign the player, but now only the procedures remain to complete the transfer.

This summer, the iconic moment in the transfer window when the Spurs were unconscious and beaten by their Premier League rivals.

Tottenham thought something was off about Eze’s deal.

According to TBR Football, Tottenham had the idea that there was something wrong with the Eze transaction due to delayed completion of the move.

There’s no doubt they’re disappointed that they’re losing a player of Eze’s quality, but they felt this could happen.

TBR Football Chief Correspondent Graeme Bailey shared his thoughts on the issue and revealed the sense within the Tottenham camp.

He said: “I don’t think it necessarily hit the players or coaches so hard, but on Monday and Tuesday, the club really thought it would be happening with the Spurs.”

“On Tuesday, the Palace returned by certain standards – not quirky, it was a bit unusual, they felt something was wrong.

“I think nuisance is a wrong word – frustration. But obviously, Eze is the palace player they think is appropriate. At the end of the day, it’s not really frustration with the palace, as they were just looking for the best deal.

“Tottenham was willing to do the £68 million deal anyway, so from a palace perspective, did they really care about one of the two he joined? I don’t think so. Neither of them are a particular rival.

“I don’t think there’s any real nuisance there, but there’s obviously a frustration from the Spurs part. But when I tell them today, they’re moving right away. There’s this practical approach, this is football.

This comes as a major blow to the Spurs who not only signed Eze this summer, but also failed to Morgan Gibbs White from Nottingham Forest after activating his release clause.

The Spurs have Manchester City’s Winger Savinho in mind as their next target, but even a deal for him isn’t easy as Pep Guardiola’s team is ready to block the transfer.

After losing the race to sign Eze, all eyes will be Spurs for the next few days to see what they have in mind.
