Crystal Palace defender Mark Guech is deeply connected with his move away from the club this summer, and Liverpool is keen to secure his signature.
According to TBR Football, Crystal Palace Chairman Steve Parish is currently trying to sell the player to Liverpool. He hopes the 25-year-old will be in the Premier League champions and will come forward with an acceptable proposal for the defender.
The palace now wants to sell Guehi
The defender is the final year of his contract and Crystal Palace doesn’t want to lose him on a free transfer next year. They hope to recover around £40 million for the defender. However, Liverpool is hoping to sign him for a fee of nearly £30 million. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can sign contracts.
Guehi has consistently demonstrated quality in the Premier League and is ready to take the next step in his career. He would want to join a big club where he can fight for a big trophy. The journey to Liverpool is ideal for him.
Liverpool needs Mark Guehe
Meanwhile, Premier League champions also need quality defenders like him. They have looked extremely vulnerable on their backs for the past 12 months. Even in the opening game of the season, they looked very poor defensively. Crystal Palace and Bournemouth were able to expose their defensive frailty. Liverpool cannot hope to win a massive trophy without improving in that category.
England International certainly helps them to tighten in the back. He shows quality in the club and country, and there’s no doubt that he’s ready to play for the biggest club. It will be interesting to see how things unfold in the next few days.
