West Ham United reportedly wants to sign Hector Fort from Barcelona during the summer transfer period.

According to a report from the Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona has already contacted players and it will be interesting to see if they are willing to move them.

The youngster reportedly accepts joining another club this summer, but he wants a loan move. He hopes to return to Barcelona next season and establish himself as a key player for the club.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham can get the deal done. If they can sign a talented fullback this season on loan, it would be a cheap acquisition for them and add much needed quality and depth to their defensive units as well.

Everton is also passionate about the players. They can use more depth with defensive units, making Fort a convenient option in the short term.

West Ham is a disastrous opening week of the season, and they need to bounce back hard. They need quality players to do well.

Fort could prove to be a useful short-term acquisition for them. The talented young defender needs regular game time to continue his development, and he rarely gets those opportunities in Barcelona. A move to West Ham might be ideal for him. Premier League regular football will help him improve and could accelerate his development.

West Ham is competing at a high level and the younger defenders will certainly have a realistic opportunity to play for them. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will be able to quickly organize their movements. West Ham is extremely vulnerable defensively and lacks free quality defenders. Signing the 19-year-old Spaniard certainly helps them improve. You also need to invest in quality defensive midfielders and another central defender.
