  • Alvarez completes Fenerbafe’s move
  • West Ham sends first Magassa offer

After Edson Alvarez moved to Fenerbafe on loan, West Ham United reportedly submitted an opening offer to sign an instant replacement in the form of a 6-foot-2 midfielder.

Alvarez completes Fenerbafe’s move

Just two years later at London Stadium, Alvarez has completed a loan move to join Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbafe. Hammer is reportedly keen to clear his large £100,000 salary from the wage bill.

With room to pilot following the midfielder’s departure, the hammer could be an interesting club to watch as the deadline approaches. It was obvious that Graham Potter still needs a lot of reinforcements, and it was all going to be seen against Sunderland on the first day, but whether West Ham has time to welcome those additions is a completely different question.

The West Ham boss told reporters when asked about this week’s transfer. “We need not only one, but some silver bullets, we need to analyze where we think the improvements are, we need to work within the club’s financial position and make the right decision to bring the right players and the right people here.

“If it looks historical, West Ham used money to sign players. Signing players is easy, not that they’ll be the right one.”

Less than two weeks have passed before the transfer window closes, some targets remain on West Ham’s reporting radar. Names such as Jamie Vardy and Artem Dovbyk were among those mentioned recently, but it is unclear whether the hammer will be pushed to ensure either of the arrivals.

Instead, their focus appears to be set to find an instant replacement for Alvarez this month.

West Ham sends first Magassa offer

West Ham submitted an opening offer from Monaco this month to sign Sang Magassa, according to Guardian Jacob Steinberg. The 6’2 midfielder is reportedly identified as a replacement for the Arab Lesbians and also represents the best player at just 21 years old.

Magassa, a defensive midfielder who offers Potter further centre-back options, has been described as someone with a “really exciting raw profile” by analyst Ben Matinson.

Given that he already has Champions League experience with his name at such a young age above that “exciting” profile, West Ham will land an undeniable gem if he can sign Magassa in the next two weeks.
