  • Newcastle United’s Jorgen Strand Larsen bids will be denied
  • Eddie Howe faces a tricky situation after the latest rejection

Newcastle United stroking a stumbling block in pursuit of Jorgen Strand Larsen after the Wolverhampton Wanderers firmly rejected an approach worth £50 million for Norwegian striker.

According to a report by The Athletic, Magpies had submitted flat bids without add-ons, following what they believed was a constructive discussion between the two clubs.
However, the wolves have made their position clear. The 25-year-old forward is not on sale.

For Newcastle, this rejection comes as a blow to Callum Wilson’s long-term hunt for alternatives.

The attackers decided to leave the club this summer for more playtime and join West Ham United.

Magpies add depth to the offensive division and consider Strandlersen an ideal player for their team, but the Wolves have not waste time rejecting Eddiehau’s team offers.

Despite the wolves’ current stance, Newcastle is not expected to leave the deal completely.

Sources suggest that clubs can return with improved packages that include performance-related add-ons or structured payments, but the wolves’ “not for sale” message makes negotiations difficult.

Magpies have struggled to sign players this summer and are subject to several rejections.

Hugo Ekitike, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, Joao Pedro and others have all refused to move to St. James Park this summer, making the Wolves the latest club to bring more miserable things to Hau’s team.

For now, Strand Larsen will remain a wolf player and will have a significant change in stance to change before the transfer window closes.

With about a week remaining in the transfer window to close, Howe must make a quick decision on his latest strategy.
