  • Can Artem Dovbyk solve the Newcastle striker’s dilemma?
  • Magpies deal with tricky situations

Newcastle United explored the potential moves of Roman striker Artem Dovbyk as frustration grows in search of a new centre forward.

Ukraine International emerged as a potential target after the magpie encountered difficulties in negotiating both the wolf Jorgen Strand Larsen and Brentford’s Joa Wissa.

According to IL Tempo journalist Filippo Biafora, the broker is currently working to establish a route where Dovbyk can switch to St. James Park before the transfer window closes.

The 28-year-old Dovbyk is an experienced striker who has already proven himself on Serie A and the international stage.

Can Artem Dovbyk solve the Newcastle striker’s dilemma?

He is known for his goalscoring quality and his physical presence.

The forward is limited to alternative appearances in the opening match of the Rome Serie A campaign, and the report suggests that manager Giampie Rogas Perini is not opposed to approving his departure.

Brighton lender Evan Ferguson was moved during the preseason, causing competition to intensify over the location of the Roman attack, leaving potentially Dovbyk surplus in the requirement.

His current deal will run until June 2029. In other words, Rome is in a strong position when it comes to negotiations, but the willingness of the club to hear offers can open the doors of Newcastle.

For Eddie Howe, the need to attack reinforcements has become urgent. Alexander Isaac’s continued standoff with the club created instability as it promotes travel to Liverpool.

Calm Wilson set out early in the summer for a regular few minutes. This thinned Newcastle out before, and priorities signed at the trustworthy centre.

Although Howe had to use Anthony Gordon in advance in both games this season, he is working behind the scenes to address this issue and sign a new striker soon.
