New York – Everything appeared in Naomi Osaka’s Rose in her US Open First Round match.
The two-time champion went into the court on Tuesday with sparkling red roses in her ponytail, more sparkling in her red outfit, as well as a matching lovebu, dubbed “Billie Jean Bling.”
Tennis in Osaka seemed good too. The No. 23 seed from Japan won Greet Minnen 6-3 and 6-4.
Osaka said her Nike costume work began a long time ago, but plans for her hair accessories were removed before the match – but recently they’ve come together.
“Crystals are really difficult in performance outfits, so it was really elaborate,” Osaka said. “I really enjoyed playing New York under the lights and I’m happy that my first match was a night game.
Over the past few weeks, she consulted her stylist about the idea of a ponytail with roses.
“I think this is possible?” Maybe it was two weeks ago,” Osaka said. “Yeah, we’re just throwing a little idea. Obviously, the results are far better than I could have imagined.”
Playing tennis is not at all correct.
“It was really heavy so I always knew I was planning on taking off my hair,” Osaka said. “There were a few times I played braids, but it was still a kind of boundary line. Yes, I did it for the presentation.”
