Hamilton is passionate about rediscovering the fun of Formula 1 as a racing resume

Lewis Hamilton says his target is to love racing in Formula 1 and remember that he has more fun as the season resumes with the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend.

The seven-time world champion’s move to Ferrari has not yet won the podium to date this year. Hamilton left Hamilton, especially towards a summer break, due to his failure to score points in Hungary. After a few weeks off, Hamilton says he wants to enjoy himself more after his switch to a new team feels the extra pressure distracted from his love for the sport.

“I feel determined and motivated (move forward),” Hamilton said. “We just work, hold our heads down, change a few things with our approach and try to enjoy ourselves.

“There was so much pressure in the first half of the season, and it wasn’t the most enjoyable thing, so I think you remember that we love what we do.

“In the end, it will be integrated into the amount of work we have (finished), all the new partners, the amount of filming we have done, the new team, and it is also the biggest brand of our sport.

“That’s probably the most important part (to have fun) because that’s why I got involved in the sport. It was fun for me.

“There’s often so much noise. You can lose sight of what’s really important. I really want to focus on getting back to that fun. I’ve joined a team that I’ve always dreamed of driving.

Despite his disappointment after his final race in Hungary, Hamilton says that this break provided him with the opportunity to switch off before ever reflecting in 2025.

“It’s not necessarily much different, but the good thing is, when you have time to unplug like that, it’s a reset,” he said. “We have had the time this past week to go, especially where we are doing, what we want to improve, what we want to improve, what we want to move forward.

“I see a lot of possibilities. There’s a lot of positive things from the first (half of the year), even though I wasn’t necessarily the most positive thing to look forward to. And then there’s a lot of positive things to take.
