Randy Moffitt, brother of former major leaguer Billy Jean King, dies

LONG BEACH, CA – Randimovite, the younger brother of tennis Great and Ectile advocate Billy Junking, who played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball and died after an illness. He was 76 years old.

Moffitt passed away Thursday in Long Beach, California, according to family representatives.

Moffitt was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the first round in 1970 and made his major league debut with the team in 1972.

He played 10 seasons with the Giants, then spent one each with the Houston Astros and Toronto Blue Jays. He made it 43-52 with 96 saves and won a 3.65 ERA in 534 major appearances.

He was added to the San Francisco Giants Wall of Fame in 2008 and inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame at Long Beach State University in 1986.

Randall James “Randy” Moffitt was born on October 13, 1948 in Long Beach, the son of Bill and Betty Moffitt.

He is survived with two daughters, Miranda Hara and her husband, Rusty, Alicisha Goth and her husband, James – and four grandchildren, as well as his king and wife Ilana Cross.
