Tottenham Hotspur is about to hijack another deal after completing the move of RB Leipzig playmaker Xavi Simons.
Ironically, a week after Ebelech Eze was stolen from under Daniel Levi’s nose, the Spurs pulled out one of the outstanding transfer hijacks of the summer Simons joins the North Londoner.
Tottenham confirmed summer signature | price tag |
---|---|
Mohamed Kudus | £55 million |
loty | £5 million |
MATHYS TEL | £30 million |
Joan Parjinja | loan |
Kevin Danso | £21 million |
According to Fabrizio Romano, Thomas Frank’s side reached an “overnight” agreement with Leipzig and signed the Netherlands International in a transaction worth £52 million.
The transfer is complete and is a huge boost for Frank, who has been seeking extra firepower and creativity in the last third. With Eze and Morgan Gibbs White missing out on epic ways, Simons’ arrival brings the quality and versatility that their attacks are screaming.
At just 22 years old, Simons is considered one of Europe’s brightest young talents. He can operate out of width as an offensive midfielder and even drift between the lines.
Most importantly, he gives Lily White an additional option as James Madison gets injured, Dejan Krucevsky gets injured and his son Heungmin goes to MLS.
The former PSG sensation, also a product of Barcelona’s famous Ramasia Academy, has been impressed with Leipzig in the Bundesliga since 2023 and will have the opportunity to showcase his sky potential in the Premier League.
Simons scored 11 goals and more than 33 appearances last season despite lacking a seasonal mass due to ankle ligament injuries.
Tottenham makes a “surprise offer” for Man City defender Manuel Akangee
After completing his deal with Dutch International, one of Levy’s next business orders is to sign a new defender.
Tottenham has seen the centre-back as Radu Dragusin still has ACL issues.
The Swiss ace has been on his contract for two years and has not played a minute for City this season. Turkish champion Galatasaray has a club-to-club agreement to sign Sky Blues’ Akanji.
That’s according to mail and journalist Jack Gogan, who reports that Tottenham has evaluated his options and has given an “surprise” bid on Accanzee, who wants Champions League football.
Spurs’ approach refers to a move against a player whose 30-year-old is likely to prefer to remain in the UK as a result, and Galatasaray is at risk of being hijacked.
Pep Guardiola does not call for the term Accanzi, but has lavished him in the past by praise.
“(Assistant Manager) Carlos Visenz was the set piece and he said:
“Moving defensively and offensively, he does it perfectly. This is a gift for a manager. Some players need to explain 10 times or train 10 times to show what you’re thinking or want to do.
“He was the fullback, he didn’t train once, he didn’t train completely, and he made it perfect. He’s an epic player. We should have three buildups in the back. That’s why we usually play Kyle (Walker) or John (Stone). He was totally perfect.
