Aston Villa reaches agreement to sign former man United Defender

Aston Villa has had a quiet summer transfer window so far, but things have started to be featured in recent weeks. Also, less than 36 hours before the Monday evening deadline, they agreed to the latest additional terms.

So far, only Marco Bizot and Evan Mosuesard have been signed to Unai Emery’s team in the PSR-imposed transfer window. However, after Jacob Ramsey is sold to Newcastle, there is the extra room the club is currently working on to use.

And they’re trying to do so by adding a new central defender.

As Fabrizio Romano reported, Aston Villa agreed to personal terms with Victor Lindelof, who left Mann United at the expiration of his contract early in the summer. Previously sought by wolves, Swedish International signs a two-year contract at Villa Park, and serves as the option to extend it for another 12 months.

“We’re going here from Victor Lindelph to Aston Villa! AVFC. The agreement is valid by June 2027, with options by June 2028, with a higher proposal compared to Fiorentina/Everton. Lindelph says yes and is now set for medical care. ”

Lindelof is a very solid addition to Emery’s team and he will need the next nine months given Aston Villa competes in four tournaments this season. In this regard, that is also very wise.

Lindelof is unlikely to be the last player Aston Villa signed this summer, with plans to add at least one more time before Monday’s deadline. A contract with West Ham playmaker Lucas Paketa is being explored, but there could be a new striker.
