  • Man United is working on improving the goalkeeper division
  • Aston Villa is not expected to let Martinez leave

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United is taking a new approach to Aston Villa for goalkeeper Emiliano “Dive” Martinez as the transfer window enters the final 48 hours.

United have struggled for their goalkeepers to perform in Kominag’s performances this season.

Whether Premier League Altay Bayindir and Carabao Cup’s Andre Onana, both have failed to perform this season, and mistakes this season have already cost a lot.

To address this important issue with the team, Reuben Amorim and his management are working on slow moves for the new goalkeeper.

Consultations are currently continuing for Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens with Antwerp, but there is growing concern at Old Trafford that the deal could collapse at the final stage.

With less than two days left in the window, the Red Devils were once again turned to Martinez, who has been praised by the club for several seasons.

Romano reports that a new approach has been taken for both Aston Villa and the player camp, ensuring Man United is ready to act quickly if the Lammen fall apart.

The Argentina World Cup winner has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League since joining Villa, and praises his leadership.

His performance during Argentina’s 2022 World Cup victory brought him to global awareness, and his consistency at Villa Park solidified his reputation as one of the league’s top keepers.

However, Aston Villa is a passive seller. Martinez is a key figure in UNAI Emery’s plans as the club continues to balance domestic ambitions with European competition.

If this departure is in the second half of the window, there will be little time to secure a replacement.

With windows closed within 48 hours, Man United’s goalkeeping situation is delicately poised. The Romano update reveals that Martinez is firmly on the list of shortlists and United are open to the line of communication.
