Man United has decided to sign goalkeepers before the transfer window closes, and they have now strengthened their interest in their long-standing goals.

Reuben Amorim made it clear that he wants a new goalkeeper with the decision not to start with Andre Onana in any of Man United’s first three Premier League matches. The Senne Lammens deal has been underway in recent weeks, but there is no agreement with Royal Antwerp yet. This led to the club boss pivoting his pursuit to Emiliano Martinez.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, personal terms are currently agreed with Argentina International. Behind this, Man United gave a talk from Aston Villa to the club on a late summer contract.

“Manchester United agreed to personal terms with Emiliano Martinez and approached Aston Villa! MUFC If no Lammens trading occurs. It’s well underway now. ”

In this late stage of the summer transfer period, it may be difficult for Man United to agree to a Martinez deal on their terms. Aston Villa is open to sales, but is comfortable maintaining a World Cup winner as a goalkeeper for at least one season.

At the beginning of the summer, Aston Villa was reportedly hoping for £40 million from Martinez, so it’s no surprise that Man United would be asked to pay any more, given the delay in their approach. Similarly, his 32-year-old desire to leave could make a decision not to make it difficult during negotiations, as long as the Villa Park Club can obtain a replacement as soon as possible.
