Newcastle confirms Nick Ultemade’s signature early in the weekend, and they plan to bring in another striker.
At this stage, Newcastle has selected two targets: Joan Wissa and Jorgen Strand Larsen. Both players asked to join the Champions League side, but the former is the one that will be more lengthy to get his move.
On Sunday, Wissa issued a detailed statement confirming he wanted to leave.
Newcastle is ready to make another offer to Yoan Wissa
According to Pete O’Rourke (via Football Insider), Whissa’s statement was placed in pole position to join Newcastle, but it is still far from a deal agreed with Brentford before the transfer window closes.
“Eddie Howe wants to bring in another striker, if Newcastle decides to make the backburner a pursuit of Strand Larsen, they will increase their offers and try to get the deal for Wissa, but Brentford is more likely than after the statement.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Brentford had increased its asking price to £65 million. However, this rating could be reduced if you bring about a replacement within the next 24-36 hours.
For now, it is still unclear how this situation will work. If Wissa doesn’t move to Newcastle, it would be interesting to see if he’s been reintegrated at Brentford.
