  • Mark Guech is angry at his failed move to Liverpool
  • Crystal Palace defenders will release a statement

According to Guardian Edoaron, Crystal Palace captain Mark Guech is left incredibly unhappy after his longtime transfer to Liverpool fell at the final moments of the summer window.

England International is subject to specific negotiations between the two clubs, and in principle a fee of around £35 million has been reportedly agreed.

Giving no indication that he wanted to force a move, Guehi decided to continue training and playing for the palace throughout the saga, and handle the situation with professionalism.

However, the palace eventually pulled out the plug of the deal when it failed to secure the right replacement in time.

For Guehi, the disruption of movement left a sour taste. Aaron reports that the defender respects his contract and his commitment to the palace, respecting his club as he waits for the terms to be finalized, and that he feels he is doing his own right.

Sources close to the player suggest that they are extremely unhappy with how the event unfolded, especially as the transfer collapse was beyond his control.

The 25-year-old, who has grown to one of the most consistent centre-backs in the Premier League since joining Palace from Chelsea, was keen to switch to Anfield, where he would have linked up with fellow England teammates and played Champions League football under the ARNE slot.

However, with the palace standing, Guehi now finds himself balanced with his current loyalty to the club and his ambition to compete at a very high level.

Guehi is preparing to release an official statement in the coming days to clarify his stance and outline his perspective on the failed moves. He continues to be committed to the performance of the palace in the short term, but the situation may encourage further speculation about his long-term future.

For now, the palace holds the captain, but the fallout from this saga may well remain in season.
