Xavi has named the “Spectacular” Barcelona star Spain’s “most talented” player

Spain was able to return to their European throne last summer and is one of their favorites to win the 2026 World Cup, but it needs to be done in line with the domination they enjoyed in the 2000s.

When Barcelona and Real Madrid fought it for the club’s throne, it was Spain that benefited on the international stage. Stars like Sergio Ramos and Gerald Pique set aside their rivals, put the best on the sword, leaving some nations behind. It was the highest era of El Clasico from September to May, but from then on it was collective Spanish rule.

With Vincent del Bosque in charge, the Spaniards beat Holland in the final Gaspu style to win the World Cup in the 2010 World Cup. They then smacked Italy two years later, winning the Euro 2012 in their second European Championship victory after their 2008 victory.

The legend of Barcelona was at the heart of beauty, which was often a Spanish side at the peak of Spain. He was their controller – the conductor on the side that could end the summer with the perfect crescendo – and without him there might not be a World Cup and a European championship. He had that influence.

But even one of the greatest midfielders of all time had no choice but to admit that another Starman was the most talented player in Spanish history. Simply put, if you say that Xavi is as good, the other star is as tall as the best this country has ever seen.

Xavi: Iniesta is Spain’s “most talented” player

From Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi to Gerardo Pique and Carl Puyol, Barcelona enjoyed an incredible mix of their best years, but perhaps not as perfect as Zabi or Andres Iniesta. The Spanish duo, along with Sergio Busquetz, was out of hand when all three of them took their invincibility into the international stage.

But as good as all three, Xavi only had one answer when selecting Spain’s “most talented” player in history. Iniesta claims to be the true standout of the country.

“To me, Andres is the most talented player in Spanish history. He has epic talent. If we talk about him, I don’t know where to start. He’s stunning in every sense of the word.

“He’s the leader of the pitch and he’s always wanting the ball. Do you know the importance of that? When a lot of people don’t want anywhere near them, he wants it.

Whether something like Lamine Yamal will ultimately overtake Iniesta’s legacy is a debate at another time. Of course, if he intends to do so, he will need to find a way to beat the former midfielder’s iconic victory goal against the Netherlands in 2010.
