  • Why Liverpool signed Wirtz
  • Liverpool’s future superstar

It was two years ago that Jurgen Klopp rocked the Liverpool Football Club with the announcement that Jurgen Klopp would step down from his post at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Liverpool fans feel that there will be no more glory days, and the German project falls after years of brilliant success.

Of course, it wasn’t like that when FSG appointed Arne Slot from Feyenoord, and a wise tactician led Klopp’s team into a new form, paid for hopes of Liverpool’s downfall, and instead led Red to the Premier League title.

So a new era begins and Liverpool can sign a rather exciting superstar. Alexander Isaac provided cream in an extraordinary summer transfer window, but it is Florian Wurtz who can become the club’s poster boy.

Why Liverpool signed Wirtz

Liverpool broke the UK transfer record when they signed Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a fee of £116 million. The 22-year-old arrives with a position as a German “generational talent,” as sports media professional Christian Gnari pointed out, filling in the creative void left behind when Trent Alexander Arnold rose up and set off for Real Madrid.

Certainly Wirtz, opening some fixtures in the Premier League, was not a dream come true, but his immeasurable quality is there and there’s no doubt that he’ll grow into a superstar under the wings of the slot.

After a few quiet shows, he is expected to look more flashier and smoother as Liverpool beat title rival Arsenal before an international break, and will become one of the leading players in the Premier League.

Liverpool paid a big buck to take Whartz, and while it’s all going well, the Anfield side may already have a homemade version of the playmaker of Ling Moh in Ling Moh, which made his mark this season.

Liverpool’s future superstar

Liverpool poached Ngumoha from Cobham Academy in Chelsea in 2024.

He made exciting advances over his time at Merseyside, but Ngumoha announced himself when he scored the winner at St. James Park in his Premier League debut last month, marking the most extraordinary entrance.

There are plenty of Ngumoha who showed off his ability to keep his cool to transform into a big moment, electrical, physical, and his precocious appearance somewhat reminiscent of Wirtz’s talent at Bayer Leberkusen, and German talent made his professional debut in May 2020 at the age of 17.

The rest is history, and Ngumoha has already written himself in the record book with a goal for the magpie. Ngumoha, who was hailed as a “special” player for his efforts during the preseason, has since proven himself in a completely different category.

It was certainly a moment to stop the show, and Ngumoha’s potential has been clearly recognized by the coaching staff at Slots and Liverpool, choosing to sign a direct replacement for Luis Diaz this summer after selling Columbian to Bayern Munich for £65.5 million.

Ngumoha featured prominently throughout the campaign, and considering that he was just 17 years old, he certainly has the same as Wirtz’s incredible weight when Germany began to make his name in Germany.

It’s stupid for Red to pile too much weight on this young man’s back as he cuts his teeth at an advanced level, but there’s no doubt that he has what it takes to emulate Whartz with him as a generation of talent for the Liverpool in the slots.
