  • Liverpool can consider selling Ibrahima Conate in January
  • Top clubs show interest in Reds defenders

Despite the summer transfer window being closed just a week ago, rumors began about the January transfer period.

Liverpool was one of the most active clubs this summer as Arne Slot spent heavily on improving the quality of his team.

The Dutch manager made several famous signatures at Anfield, including Alexander Isaac, Hugo Ekicchike and Florian Wiltz.

It was a summer of major changes at the Merseyside club that offloaded many key players, including Lewis Diaz and Trent Alexander Arnold.

After the signatures they made and the start of this season, they remain their favorites to win the Premier League title, but the future for one of their starters remains uncertain.

Liverpool can consider selling Ibrahima Conate in January

According to KOP’s Empire, the Premier League leaders were able to consider selling Ibrahi Maconate’s surprising move during the January transfer period.

The French centre-back has yet to agree on a new contract with the club and has expressed interest in signing him by the biggest club in Europe, so Liverpool wants to avoid a situation where players will lose him next summer after they enter the final year of his contract with the club.

Both the club and player parties continue to be involved in consultations for new deals, but if an agreement is not reached, slots can consider leaving the club in the middle of the season.

Real Madrid has shown most interest in signing defenders, but clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have also linked to the Reds’ centre-back moves.

The player is a key member of the starting lineup at Anfield, and losing him when the Reds compete for the highest honors is a big risk, making it a difficult decision for the club to consider a midseason, but they are willing to take due to the financial impact they are involved.

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keun has described Conate as “outstanding,” and that’s exactly what he’s done for the club, especially since last season he’s solidified his position at the starting line and has become a pillar of their defense alongside Virgil van Dik.
