The Newcastle United player dropped a 12-word response when Alexander Isaac said he was leaving for the summer from St James Park.
Byrne shows support for Newcastle villain Isaac
Isaac’s departure ruled Newcastle’s summer transfer window, and the Swedes always pushed for joining Liverpool, eventually robbing his wish and moving to Anfield for the British transfer record.
The 25-year-old has aggravated relationships with many magpie supporters who refused to play at the beginning of the new Premier League season, but during the current international break, Dan Byrne provided his former teammates with his support.
“I’m glad I could do that. We wanted to close to make the transfer window clear. I was in football long enough to realize that the careers are short for players and that they have what they want to achieve. I’m happy that it’s over.
“Alex has no good wishes. There is no hostility. As a Newcastle fan, I know what Newcastle fans are like. We protect the club and the city and we want players who want to be there for Newcastle.
Another Newcastle player discusses Isaac’s move to Liverpool
Now Emile Craffs is also discussing Isaac’s ugly exit from Newcastle (via Sports Witness), provides a 12-word response showing his support for the previous Magpie Striker.
“You understand Alex. He might want to take the next step.”
To be fair, it’s easy to look at both sides of the debate about Newcastle players when many fans felt they were showing a ton of disrespect to the club.
Byrne and Craffs worked with him every day and were his colleagues who had obviously had a strong relationship.
That said, Newcastle supporters are more than in their right to vent their rage, given that their best players feel that Eddie Howe, the rest of the players and the whole club essentially lost to strike.
Ultimately, the football club will move on even if they lose a world-class player, and Isaac’s quality is a huge loss for the Magpie, but they have new offensive heroes like Nick Urtemaid and Yoan Wissa.
