Real Madrid is reportedly planning to bid in the 60 million euro (£52 million) region for the transfer of Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton.

Wharton is also a target for Manchester United, as covered in detail in the exclusive columns of his daily briefings.

England International is likely to have serious interest from Spain, and Defensa Central appears to be claiming that Madrid can bid him for a big amount of money.

Wharton is clearly an exceptional young talent, and it’s easy to imagine him being a hit in the Premier League and many top clubs elsewhere in Europe.

Wharton seems to have plenty of options whenever he decides to leave the palace. And it would be interesting to see if he is being seduced by overseas movements.

The Eagles would want to send the 21-year-old to a foreign club if possible. Otherwise they will have to deal with losing him to their rivals.

Wharton looks like he’s ideal for Xabi Alonso’s style of play. The Los Blancos are giving Toni Cruz a long-term alternative as a deep playmaker.

Is Crystal Palace set for further player sales?

The palace had to sell Ebebeki Eze to Arsenal in the summer, which followed Michael Oris’ departure for Bayern Munich the previous year.

The people of South London do not want to lose more key names, but Mark Guech is in the final year of his contract.

We understand that we are confident that Liverpool will sign Guehi when it becomes a free agent, but Wharton is clearly something to watch.

This is far from ideal for the palace after the incredible progress that won the FA Cup final last season and the community shield at the start of this campaign.
