Former Chelsea star Pat Nevin claims Young Blues striker Mark Giu was “furious” after being recalled from a loan at Sunderland.
The talented young Spaniard was on loan to Sunderland early in the summer after he had no chance to play his first team at Stamford Bridge.
However, Guiu made the surprising decision to remember him after Liam Delap’s injury, which cut his loan spell very short.
Nicholas Jackson also left and joined Bayern Munich on loan, so Chelsea suddenly became shorter in advance, so they decided to regain the GUIU.
Mark Giu will do his best to return to Chelsea
Nevin feels that Giu will certainly be disappointed that he couldn’t stay in Sunderland.
Talking to Betway about Guiu’s return to CFC, Nevin said:
“It was a young team and for GUIU it was a huge opportunity to get the game under his belt. He played a big role rather than getting out of the bench or starting a meaningless game, so I think it would hinder how it’s resolved.
“On the other hand, he is a Chelsea player and I understand that he is still a young player.
“From talking to the people of Chelsea, they really appreciate him and you think he’s good for this football club.
“They thought the move towards Sunderland was great for him and his development to build up the Premier League experience.
“Chelsea have done a lot over the years, and I think the club explained it to him in terms of his path to his first team.
“It may feel like he’s been a mess, but he’s probably aware that he’s a Chelsea guy, and they have great hopes for him.
Guiu hopes to have a chance at Chelsea this season, but overall he will definitely see Delap be loaned back in the near future soon, soon in January when he returned from his injury.
