Man City is looking to bounce back this season after the disappointing 2024-25 campaign, but it was a late start for Pep Guardiola’s part. They have struggled to look back at his best despite Ehringhaaland, and the Norwegian striker could leave the club next summer.
Haaland is widely regarded as the best striker in world football, but despite signing a new long-term contract with Man City over the past 12 months, he could leave for Real Madrid, the biggest club in world football.
Man City is desperate to maintain Haaland amid the interest of Real Madrid
Haaland has often been linked to Real Madrid in recent years, and according to football insiders, Pete O’Rourke confirmed that the La Liga giants are still interested in signing him. Nevertheless, Man City believes he will stay for years to come.
“You wouldn’t have thought that, but there’s always been a connection between Real Madrid and Haaland. He’s the best striker in the Premier League, his goals record tells you that, and Guardiola doesn’t want to lose him in the middle of this rebuilding at Man City.
“They’ve already lost some big players, like Kevin De Bruin, Kyle Walker, and more. He’s aiming to get all of the offers, aiming to bring this team back a few seasons ago.
“It’s not surprising that Real Madrid is interested in him. They love the opportunity to sign Haaland and combine it with Killian Mbappe. However, Mancity is not going to entertain his offer and is sure he can protect the Norwegians.”
It remains to be seen how Haaland’s situation will unfold, but given his long contract, Man City is the right thing to be confident in.
