Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Swiss international attacker Reuben Vargas.

According to Fichajes, they have emerged as one of the leading clubs signing the 27-year-old attacker and will face competition with Aston Villa. It will be interesting to see if Sevilla is ready to sell Vargas in the coming months.

Reuben Vargas did well for Sevilla

He was an important player to them. Swiss International has produced three assists in three league matches so far this season. Selling him will weaken the La Liga club in the future. And it remains to be seen whether they are ready to sanction his departure mid-season.

Tottenham certainly could use more quality in attacks, and the 27-year-old would be a useful acquisition. He can work on either side, adding pace, flare and unpredictability to the side.

The opportunity to move into the Premier League may be attractive to players. It’s a great platform for him, and Tottenham has ambitious projects. They hope to build on the UEFA Europa League victory since last season. They considered trying the trophy again and have come along well to improve their team during the summer transfer period. They also brought in quality managers like Thomas Frank. Swiss International may be attracted to the idea of participating in them.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham can convince the Spanish outfit with a considerable offer. They have the resources to obtain a contract on an ongoing basis. If they want to match the European elite, they need to continue to improve their teams.

Vargas is likely not a cheap acquisition, and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham is ready to beat the bank for him.
