After another disappointing start, Manchester United is already thinking about their targets for 2026 and is reportedly interested in a bargain to sign the Barcelona star.
Ratcliffe meeting routines say Amorim
Rumors have been surrounded around Reuben Amorim’s immediate future at Old Trafford since thrashing 3-0 at the hands of rival Manchester City last weekend. Some reports even suggest that he only has three games to save his job, playing Chelsea tonight.
The arrival of Ir Jim Ratcliffe’s, too, did little to end these rumors, but the manager later revealed that the meeting was merely routine, whilst he joked that he had been offered a new contract.
“New contract, he was offering me a new contract! No, it was normal. Showing his support and explaining it to be a long project. He said many times this was my first season, not for me.
“I talked to him, Omar (Belada, CEO) and Jason (Football Director Wilcox), and we’re trying to see all the data around the team. So it’s a normal meeting and we had a few. But at this moment, it’s normal for people to pay attention to it.”
For now, Amorim appears to have Ineos support. But if the current results continue, it will not last forever. The owners invest around £200 million in the summer to strengthen United’s team, hoping that will be reflected on the pitch sooner than later.
Ineos is unlikely to end their investment. 2026 gives them a fresh opportunity to complete the Amorim side, and the report suggests that they can already try to sign something like Realdrid’s Eduardo Camavivanga.
But whether the Red Devils willingly take off to the French is another question. Instead, they may turn to bargain deals to sign a Barcelona alternative.
Man Utd focused on De -in
According to a Spanish report, Man United is currently paying attention to the 2026 move to sign Frenkie de John. The Barcelona midfielder is expected to close his contract next summer, giving the Red Devils a great opportunity to make a once-in-a-lifetime deal.
If the Dutch become free agency next year, there will definitely be many suitors, but despite missing out on European football last season, United have had little trouble attracting talent recently.
League statistics 24/25 | de Jong | Manuel Ugarte |
---|---|---|
Min | 1,143 | 1,785 |
Progressive Pass | 120 | 61 |
The tackle won | 11 | 49 |
Key Pass | twenty one | 10 |
To say De Jong is going to be an upgrade to Ugarte, which owns Ugarte, is an incredible understatement. The Barcelona midfielders were one of Europe’s best passersby and finally integrated the control they were desperate for.
While in charge at the club, DeJohn, who has been described as “dynamic” by his former manager and Barcelona legend Xavi, should see if he will leave the course he will still be leaving as a free agent by the end of his current campaign.
