Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford was a much needed result, but it was a bittersweet night for Benjamin Sesco.

The Slovenian striker handed the start of the attack and was replaced at halftime after a Casemiro red card forced Reuben Amorim to reshuffle his side.

Sesco actually played a key role in the first half, winning an important air duel against Trevo Charova, leading to Brian Mbemo’s chances and the sending of Robert Sanchez.

The attacker has not scored a goal for the Red Devils since joining RB Leipzig’s club in the summer transfer window.

Although criticism of his output is justified, he contributed to the match against Chelsea, creating the opening for his teammates, and eventually became a red card for Enzo Maresca’s team.

Despite his early replacement, the attacker was energized after the match and posted a message to his Instagram account.

He writes:

The 22-year-old is still looking for his first goal contribution in the Premier League after six appearances.

His period of adaptation was challenging, and clear opportunities rarely fell in his way.

However, Amorim continues to support the former RB Leipzig striker, and believes his movements and physical presence will ultimately pay dividends if he adapts to the pace and intensity of British football.

United fans encourage Sesco from his positive thinking. Even when things aren’t fully moving forward, his willingness to fight for the badge hints at the character Amorim is trying to instill in his entire team.

They need to be patient with Sesco in terms of his goalscore return, and Amorim should continue to support the players and keep giving him a start as he appears to be building chemistry with his new teammates in the end.

Although Sesco did not contribute directly to his goal, club captain Bruno Fernandez praised his contributions and highly praised his impact on Chelsea.
