Italian and Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola has become part of Team Europe’s set-up for the 2025 Ryder Cup, focusing on coaching advice from Lori McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Rose.

Zora will serve as the official buggy driver for Team Europe’s vice captain Francesco Morinali. Zora is a huge golf fan and is said to be a long-term friend of Morinari.

Zora also weighed on coaching advice and told players how to deal with the pressure and noise from the crowd.

“First of all, you have to enter some sort of protection bubble, and that’s one of the first things you learn when you play football, because that’s the environment you’re in.

The 59-year-old was last involved in professional football in 2019. He served under Maurizio Sari, the boss of Lazio at the time.

Now Zora will get a taste of his first actions in the world of professional golf, although not as a member of the staff, rather than as a player or coach. The Ryder Cup will be held from Thursday, May 24th to Sunday, May 27th.

The European team consists of Rory McIlroy, Robert McInteel, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, Rasmus Hodgegard, Tyrrell Hutton, Shane Laurie, Sep Straka, Rudig Aberg, Victor Hofland, Matt Fitzpatrick and John Laurm.
